The Potting Shed from MCD is a homage to our allotment lovers and green fingered friends! Huge windows angled towards the sun heat up this gorgeous space, perfect for growing herbs, fruit, or veggies!
Acrylic Windows
With between 2 and 4 large acrylic windows in the potting shed, the natural light into the shed brings the optimal growing conditions. Each of the windows measures approx. 3.5ft x 2ft and the number of windows depends on the size.
Shiplap Timber Cladding
Our carpenters hand make the Potting Shed in our workshop. We do this by laying individual planned down 20mm timber boards in a shiplap style for optimal protection from the elements. Floorboards are made using Tongue and Groove boards that have three stress incisions made in them for extra support in the floor.
Using this thicker timber, along with a breathable membrane results in a naturally warm room without the need for insulation.
We only use Pressure Treated Timber
Pressure Treated Timber is wood that has been submerged in a preservative solution and a vacuum used to force the chemical deep intno the grain. We only use Scandinavian Pressure Treated timber to provide our customers with a characteric that never fades, a long lasting investment.
Steel Roof
The roof on the Potting Shed is a box profile steel roof. This requires no maintenance or love and will last a lifetime! The roof on the potting shed is a little different from the Pent and the Apex. It’s unique shape allows for rain to run off to the back. Whilst also allowing sunlight in the front.
